I should explain.....

This is an extension of my other website, which I have to confess I filled up with too many pictures. Now a rational person might ask, couldn't you delete a picture, so as to add a new one????? That would seem logical to me too, but that isn't working, believe me when I say I have tried everything in my power. So I am starting a new site. I will be adding new pictures as I get them as well as posting the upcoming classes on this site. You will still be able to go to the old site to look at pictures too. There is a link below.

I have added a new feature to this website called My Corkboard. We can leave messages here for everyone to view and comment on. Check it out at the link below. Please add your comments!

My Corkboard

I teach quilt classes at Hancock Fabrics in Council Bluffs, IA. It is a lot of fun and I have met a lot of really nice quilters this way. You can always check the upcoming class page to see what projects (with pictures) are coming up next.

As July heats things up, the Lemoyne Star Stack n Whack Quilt is a must-do quilt project. Take a favorite technique of cutting repeated patterns to make diamonds this time. Learn how to make the LeMoyne Star Block without "Y" seams. Taken from the original Magic Stack-n-Whack Quilts by Bethany S. Reynolds. This book is NOT available at our store. It is available through Barnes & Nobles or online for purchase.

If you enjoy sewing with friends, and learning new techniques, a Sampler Club is the class for you. Meet once a month for 6 months to make the blocks to finish these beautiful quilts. We have 3 starting in July:

Sampler #8, Stitching for Hours begins July 21. Keep those triangles in their place...applique a Dresden Plate & make an alternate block that brings the blocks into the border. Meeting the 2nd Monday every month beginning July 21. Not for beginners.

Sampler #7, To The Point begins July 29. These blocks are fun and pretty to make. You will learn how to set your blocks on point, as well as put more complicated blocks together. This class meets once a month for 6 months on the 4th Tuesday of the month and begins July 29. Not for beginners.

Sampler #1, Sunbonnet Sue Sampler begins July 31.This class is perfect for beginners. You will learn how to make & square up Half Square Triangles, do a little applique on Sue as well as set your blocks with sashings and cornerstones. This class meets once a month for 6 months on the 4th Monday of the month, but does begin Thurs. July 31.

Last but not least, I will be teaching a class to make a bag to make carrying all that awkward equipment to class easier. We will be making the Quilting Carry-all Bag on Saturday, August 2. This bag is great for taking things to class as well as just getting together with friends to sew. It is on display now on the wall by the classroom (no room over the cutting table!)

You can see our machines will be humming all summer. Make one or all of these projects, get a head start on Christmas presents!

Coming soon:
New string-piecing project

Sampler #7, To The Point

This picture doesn't do the colors justice.

Check it out the next time you are in the store. It is on display above the cutting table.

Here is the May/June Block Lotto Contrary Wife Block.

Please use 2 shades of the same summer flower color, using the lighter color for the 5 solid squares, the darker for the Half Square Triangles & white or white on white for the other half of the HST.

Join in the fun.....make a block or 2 and enter the the Lottery to win all the blocks!

If we have enough blocks, there could be more than one winner. Last months winners were Diane Tuttle & Marge Perkins. Congratulations ladies!
